The Sport Management Association Conference (SMAC) is a student‑organized annual event that brings together industry professionals, alumni, and students for a full day of learning, networking, and career development. Hosted on CMU’s campus, the conference features panel discussions, professional workshops, and a career fair. 

Key sessions have included topics such as Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), crisis management, organizational culture, leadership in sport, and long‑term career planning. The conference also includes an alumni networking dinner, creating meaningful opportunities for students to build connections with successful CMU graduates. 

SMAC is held annually in the Health Professions Building in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, with event information and registration posted each year. Students may attend, volunteer, serve on event committees, or take on leadership roles through the Sport Management Association.
