College Connection Visits
Students who major in the College of Education and Human Services (CEHS) programs are a tight-knit group of educators, designers, planners, change-makers, leaders, and innovators who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. They support each other as they go from class to class, then share their experiences beyond campus to practice what they have learned.
Along your journey, you'll learn from our distinguished faculty, receive personalized guidance from your advisor and have access to premier learning facilities and technology. And know, from start to finish, you'll never be alone. You will become one of more than 55,000 CEHS alumni serving as leaders in their fields, whether here in Michigan or around the world.
We can personalize your day to include meeting with a faculty member, an academic advisor, current students, and/or touring our specialized spaces.
Our college offers several opportunities throughout the year where you can come to campus for program-specific events:
| Details: | What does it mean to practice a Pedagogy of Kindness? Author Catherine J. Denial will explore three tenets of compassionate teaching: justice, believing students, and believing in students. We'll reflect together on what kindness (and its lack) has meant to us within academia, and how we can - piece by piece - assemble a kind approach to pedagogy that meets the needs of our students and ourselves in a time of great change. In addition to the in-person event, there will also be an option to join a livestream of the keynote. A book signing outside of French Auditorium will follow the keynote. |
