Our Education and Human Services Residential College gives you the chance to make connections with people who understand your career goals.

Designed for students pursuing a major or minor in the College of Education and Human Services, the EHSRC offers a world of opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. For example:

  • Learn in study groups with fellow residents.
  • Collaborate with faculty in your field.
  • Engage in career-related programs.
  • Participate in service learning, field trips and campus events.
  • Build your skills and prepare to lead.

As an EHSRC resident, you’ll live on the second floor of Sweeney Hall. Sweeney offers two-bedroom suites and easy access to a computer lab, kitchenette, study lounges, and laundry facilities.

Requirements

You’re eligible to apply for our community if you’re pursuing a major or minor in the College of Education and Human Services. We look for students who are committed to active, engaged learning.

As a member of the community, you’ll take some of your courses as part of the EHSRC cohort. You’ll also be expected to participate in events, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and engage in community service.

How to Apply

The application process is simple, and we’re here to help.

  1. Complete CMU's housing application through the Office of Residence Life.
  2. Under “Housing Preferences,” choose “Education and Human Services Residential College”.
  3. Complete the separate EHSRC ​application.
