Beginning as a normal school and business institute in 1892, a time when few teachers in Michigan received formal teacher training, Central Michigan University was founded on producing quality K-12 educators, and programs in teacher preparation continue to pursue that mission today.
These pages are designed to answer questions and provide resources for teacher candidates as they move through their programs from teacher education admission until receiving their initial certification from the Michigan Department of Education.
