- Graduates with our majors are eligible to become Certified Family Life Educators through the National Council on Family Relations.
- Required internships provide hands-on experience for Child Development & Family Studies majors.
- Learning opportunities within our state of the art Child Development and Learning Laboratory, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies focuses on applied research, teaching, and service. From an ecological perspective, we prepare scholars and professionals in their understanding and appreciation of the complexity and diversity of individuals and their relationships. The educational process encourages critical thinking and the application of knowledge to improve the quality of life for individuals and families across the life span.
