Michigan Administrator Certification

CMU offers flexible options for current and aspiring educational leaders to obtain their Michigan administrator certification endorsement. Offered fully online, through convenient weeknight and weekend formats, there are a variety of program options that will fit your needs for either the building level endorsement (ES) or at the central office level (CO):

Elementary & Secondary (ES) K-12 Administrator Certification

OPTION 1: MA in Educational Leadership
If you're seeking either your first master's degree, or already have a master's in another area or field, but want to explore the issues around educational leadership, you can acquire your ES certification endorsement through the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership degree program. OPTION 2: Specialist in Education
If you hold a master's degree, you can acquire your ES certification endorsement through the Specialist in Education in Educational Leadership degree program. Please see the program page for more information.

OPTION 3: Fast Track Program
As a current administrator who holds a master's degree (in education or another field), you may fulfill your administrator certification requirements through the 18-credit Fast Track program. Credit for professional experience may be an option. Please contact the program director to see if you qualify and for more information.

Central Office (CO) K-12 Administrator Certification

OPTION 1: Specialist in Education
Candidates who complete the Specialist in Education in Educational Leadership degree program qualify for the CO Certification. Please see the program page for more information.

OPTION 2: Doctor of Education
Candidates who complete the PK-12 Concentration in the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree program qualify for the CO Certification. Please see the  program page for more information.
