George Gant Scholarship Application

The George Gant Scholarship was established in 2023 by Kevin (’04) and Tanya Vandenberg in loving memory of George A. L. Gant, whose life and career were defined by science, generosity, and mentorship. George spent more than 30 years at Dow Corning Corporation, retiring in 1999, and made a lasting impact on countless colleagues and students. Through this scholarship, the Vandenbergs hope the InSciTE program will help spark the next mind capable of changing the world, just as George did.

This non-renewable scholarship supports undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree within the College of Science and Engineering and who demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale and must be currently enrolled in or accepted into the InSciTE Certification Program.

The George Gant Scholarship honors a legacy of curiosity, service, and mentorship by investing in students who are committed to applying science in meaningful, world-changing ways.
