Physics facilities and labs

Where Curiosity Becomes Discovery

Physics comes to life when you have the opportunity to experiment, explore, and create. The Department of Physics at CMU provides you with access to specialized laboratories, research facilities, and advanced equipment that allows you to investigate the fundamental principles that shape our world.

Whether studying the cosmos, exploring materials and matter, developing new technologies, or gaining research experience alongside faculty, students use these facilities to build the skills, confidence, and experience needed for their future careers.
