Ceramic Bead and Wearables Workshop

An array of ceramic beads of all shapes and sizes and colors laid out on a painted wood table.
Details:

Chicago artist Dove Hornbuckle (they/them) will host a workshop on making ceramic beads and wearables. Make your own ceramic beads, bracelets, earrings, and rings (beads and other objects will be fired and returned to participants at a later date).

Dove is an LGBTQ+ artist whose work has spanned ceramics, fashion, interior design, painting, and Radical Fairies. https://www.dovehornbuckle.com/jewelry/porcelainandportraits.

Dove's visit is on the heels of their current solo exhibition at Tiger Strikes Astroid - Chicago entitled Self-Portrait as a Faerie with Large and Powerful Breasts - https://www.tigerstrikesasteroid.com/chi-/-dove-hornbuckle.

From the gallery's site - "A hallmark of the exhibition will be an abundant, wall-based ceramic installation that depicts a flock of faeries of varying sizes. The multitude feel connected to a great translocation that evokes a feeling of solidarity among queer people and allies, at a time when there is deep socio-political trauma and restrictive legislation against queer and trans people."

Presented by the College of the Arts and Media Wellness, Engagement, and Belonging Committee.
