Weller, Jacquelyn

DIR/CHILD DEV & LEARNING LAB

Biography

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with an Early Childhood Concentration from Central Michigan University in 2001, followed by a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration in 2017. For the past 24 years, I have dedicated my career to early childhood education, serving as a preschool teacher and, for the past 18 years, teaching at the Child Development and Learning Laboratory (CDLL) at CMU. I am honored to have recently accepted the role of Director.

I am an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC) and have a deep passion for connecting children with nature. I believe in creating opportunities for children to explore, play, and learn in their natural environment—allowing them the time and space to be fully immersed in the outdoors.

Outside of work, I enjoy camping, attending music festivals, reading, sewing, and most of all, spending time with my family, friends, my dog Charlie, and my chickens.
