Biography

Dr. Humiston is the Director of Noncredit and Alternate Enrollment Programs for Innovation and Online, where they are charged with growing non-credit opportunities for learners in the field. 

Dr. Humiston has been with Central Michigan University since 1999 and, in that time, has enjoyed both faculty and administration roles.  Jon started their career with CMU’s Office of Civil Rights & Institutional Equity (OCRIE, formerly Affirmative Action Office), where they investigated sexual harassment and discrimination complaints. In addition to working in OCRIE, they worked as the Director of LGBTQ Services, the Student Ombuds Officer and Special Assistant to the President’s Office, as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Academic Student Services, and as Executive Assistant to the Provost. 

CMU awarded Dr. Humiston a National Alumni Service Award in the fall of 2021 to recognize and honor 23 years of education and advocacy for inclusion and diversity at CMU. Jon has been invited to give presentations for national organizations/conferences, including the Higher Learning Commission’s annual conference and for their peer review training, CUPA-HR’s annual conference, IUPUI's Assessment Institute, and several other national organizations where they have spoken on topics of inclusion and belonging.
