Biography
Shannon has held diverse roles across Michigan and California, gaining experience in administrative and technical support. She began at Michigan State University as a temporary employee after high school and was quickly promoted to a permanent role assisting the Director of Health Services, including verifying medical licenses for staff privileges at The Clinical Center.
After moving to Los Angeles, she provided administrative support to the President and Vice Presidents of The Klabin Company, an industrial real estate firm. She later joined TRW Space & Defense Sector, supporting the contract manager for the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System, which required a secret clearance. Following the satellite disaster, she transitioned to a new HR data systems department, where she developed custom reports, documented internal HR software applications, trained users, and led a computer-based training project with a consultant.
Shannon then became an assistant systems manager at a wholesale electrical goods supplier, handling testing and user support for its accounting and inventory systems. Upon returning to Michigan, she provided technical support for an Ann Arbor company specializing in customized payroll and scheduling software. After five years, she secured a systems analyst role at Michigan State University.
In 2017, Shannon joined Central Michigan University as an Office Specialist for Online Cohort Programs after relocating to Mount Pleasant. She continues to support registration and course operations for online programs, ensuring strong student support. Shannon graduated in May 2025 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development.
