GSA and WORK STUDY - CMU Libraries
Located within the Charles V Park Library building, the University Library and the Clarke Historical Library offer flexible hours, a variety of responsibilities, and a desirable work environment. Many students work with the libraries for their entire college careers. Job vacancies are filled from applications submitted to the current job postings list, below. WORK-STUDY – Educator Preparation Programs - seeks a Front Desk Student Assistant

Duties include:  Front desk management; check in student advising appointment; answer and direct phone calls; copy, file, scan; assist with special projects; type documents and flyers; sort and distribute mail; run errands on campus.
Skills desired:
Present a positive attitude, ability to work well with others, self-driven and motivated, experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), attention to detail, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, must be extremely dependable and reliable. Customer service experience is a plus but will train if needed. Teacher Education students are encouraged to apply.
Schedule:
 Flexible during office hours, M-F 8– 5 p.m., up to 20 hrs/wk depending on work study availability. Preference for students who can continue through the summer and into following years.

WORK-STUDY and GSA - Health Professions Dean's Office- seeks a Student Assistant

Duties include: Sort and deliver mail; assist with copy machines by delivering and refilling with paper; assist in event set-up and teardown for College of Health Professions events; move furniture and equipment to & from storage locations; hand carry on-campus deliveries; monitor and remove flyers from tack boards; complete classroom chair counts; report building issues, i.e., holes in walls and carpet spills; general office duties including working with Excel spreadsheets; other duties as assigned.
Skills desired:
 Must be able to lift 40 lbs.; courteous and professional demeanor; ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and confidentiality; ability to work independently and complete duties with minimal direct supervision. Good work ethic and reliable.
Schedule:
 8 hrs/wk, approximately 1 1/2 hrs/day, Monday-Friday. Based on performance, this position may be extended through the next academic year.

Special Collections Digitization Technical Assistant

GSA - Medicine - seeks a Research Assistant

Duties include: Wastewater sample collection and pick-up on campus and at regional sites across Central Michigan. The Assistant can drive their own car or a university-owned vehicle to obtain samples and deliver them to a CMU lab in the Biosciences Building. Samples obtained weekly. The Assistant may also help prepare reagents and run assays in the lab time permitting.
Skills desired:
 Valid driver's license and interest in public health and biology.
Schedule:
 20 hrs/wk, days and times vary. Position continues through Summer and into the Academic Year 24-25.

WORK-STUDY - Provost's Office - seeks a Front Desk Receptionist

Duties include: Basic office administrative duties, including but not limited to greeting visitors; answering phones; completing assigned projects which may include typing, formatting, copying and scanning; deliveries throughout campus; prepare and sort mail for the office; update website; and other duties as assigned. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Campus and Canva. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, basic telephone skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with others and independently when necessary.
Skills desired:
 Very competent in customer service skills: Greeting VP's, faculty, guests routinely both in the office and on the phone. Attention to detail when reviewing documents or preparing materials for the provost. Ability to be proactive for enhancing the provost webpages and editing the current webpage. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Campus and Canva applications are highly desired.

 Flexible hours, Monday through Friday, between 8- 5 p.m.

WORK-STUDY – Student Account Services and University Billing Office – seeks a Skilled Assistant

Duties include: Perform clerical support to the collections department. Maintains and processes correspondence and prepares records and reporting documents. Monitor and maintain the past due payment plan program. Phone contact with students regarding payment plan adjustments. Performs statistical analysis of data.
Skills desired: 
Accounting or math major preferred. Strong understanding of financial transactions. Must be experienced user of Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines. Must be able to work independently and multitask.
Schedule: 
Office hours are M-F, 8-5 p.m. Flexible with class schedule, position is year round.

Duties include: This position will sort, load, transport, unload, count, move, store, and prepare materials for university surplus operations; prepare sale descriptions by researching, evaluating, and photographing. Some heavy lifting and potential use of warehouse equipment and driving is required.

Flexibility and follow through. Strong attendance skills required. This position requires the ability to adapt to changing duties and guidelines. Great written and verbal skills. Schedule: Two shifts available: M - F, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - This position has the opportunity to extend through the next academic year based on performance.

GSA and WORK-STUDY - WCMU Public Media - seeks an On-Air Host / Announcer / Producer

Duties include: The local host is responsible for airing programming, promos, and other on-air elements as scheduled. This position will also have occasional voice tracking and production responsibilities. This includes helping prepare news stories for the website and for on-air broadcast. This role serves as local host during national NPR programs, including ‘Weekend Edition,’ ‘All Things Considered,’ and ‘Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” among others. 
Skills desired: 
Excellent speaking skills, including an ability to deliver material live on-air in a professional manner. Ability to use and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred knowledge of Adobe Audition, audio production and operating broadcast equipment.
Schedule: 
Must be available for 10-20 hours per week during the academic year, and 25-40 hours per week during the summer. Evenings and weekend shifts ARE REQUIRED. Applicants MUST be available to work over the summer.
