Remodel Reveal: Increased Comfort and Variety in the 1st Floor Quiet Study Area

The First Floor Quiet Study Area in the library features a phone-booth style study pod.

Next time you visit the Park Library, check out the newly remodeled study area north of the first-floor elevator lobby. This spacious and comfortable quiet study area seats over 50 people – not including the seating on the west side of the room.

The remodeled section of the 1st floor Quiet Study Area includes individual study pods, glass-enclosed study pods, and booths. In addition to repeating popular furniture used in 1 North and the Mary Dow Reading Room, several new styles of furniture are available. You’ll also find some of the original library tables with computers for easy access to online resources.

To create the new study area, we removed a small section of shelving. We shifted books from the first floor to the second floor to make this remodel possible; no books were withdrawn. This change creates a more inviting entrance to the 1st floor quiet study area. Additionally, students will more easily see and access the study space along the west side of the room, overlooking the Fabiano Gardens.

To celebrate the opening of this remodeled space, stop by the 1st floor Quiet Study Area to pick up swag while supplies last.
