Frequencies of Deep Time Art Exhibition

Eric Souther, Still from video of No Time of Deep Time, 2025
Details:

Join us in the Baber Room gallery to see Frequencies of Deep Time, a digital art exhibition by artist Eric Souther.

This Exhibition is on view October 22 - December 13, 2026. Come visit! The exhibition is open when the Library is open.

Across this series, custom software translates sound into oscillating forms that animate geological landscapes like Pictured Rocks, Watkins Glen, & Lake George, revealing that permanence is flux and that rock, life, humans, and now AI are entangled strata of one ongoing story. Just as the discovery of deep time stretched Earth's age from six thousand years to billions, these works use the geological timescale to cultivate long-term thinking.

An Artist Talk and Reception will take place on October 22, 6:30 pm, in Opperman Auditorium, Park Library
