Talia Brookshire '06

Director, Diversity Equity and Inclusion - Western Governors University

Talia was awarded CMU’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2011 and is a former Young Alumni Board member.

She currently serves as Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at Western Governors University.  She previously was Vice President of Marketing and Community Outreach for Sky Zone Franchise Group, Associate Director for Elite Athlete Relations for the USA Olympics, Marketing Manager for USA Swimming and Manager of Diversity Affairs for NASCAR. 

Talia created  NASCAR's premier college outreach program "NASCAR Kinetics:  Marketing in Motion" which placed college students across the country in the footsteps of a sports marketing professional.  The program ran for four years.  She was instrumental in developing the multicultural plan for NASCAR's eight-show series "Changing Lanes" which chronicled MASCAR's drive to expose the country to opportunities to minorities.

Talia was named "Woman of the Year" by American Biographical Institute Board of International Research, was awarded one of the "Top African American Minds in Marketing and Advertising" and has served as guest lecturer, guest speaker and panelist at many institutions.
