Kim Clarke '82

Director of Executive Communications at the University of Michigan

Kim is currently Manager of Heritage Communications at U of M and is responsible for managing and contributing to the University of Michigan Heritage Project, exploring the university's past.  She develops weekly "This Week in U-M History" for faculty and staff newspaper and supports campus units in researching and interpreting histories of schools, colleges, faculty, staff, and students.  She was previously Director of Bicentennial Communications and Director of Executive Communications.   She has extensive private sector experience serving as editor and staff writer for several newspapers. 

Kim has been awarded numerous award, including induction into the Class of 2012 CMU Journalism Hall of Fame, CMU's Journalism 2012 Outstanding Alum of the Year, received several Communicator Awards, Michigan Press Association Award, Associated Press-Michigan Award and a Cicero Speechwriting Award.

As a student at CMU Kim was involved with CMLife and served as Editor in Chief in 1982.  Since graduation, she served on the Lem Tucker Scholarship Banquet Committee, JRN Hall of Fame Committee and has been a guest lecturer for journalism classes.
