Director's Welcome

Welcome new and returning graduate students to the CMU Office of Graduate Studies!

We are thrilled to have you as one of nearly 4,000 graduate students in our master’s, doctoral, certificate, and professional programs. Whether your program is on-campus or on-line, our office is here to assist you in your journey to complete your graduate degree or certificate.

The Office of Graduate Studies website has links to several important forms, and information about graduate student events, graduate student grants, as well as guidelines to begin your research/prepare your prospectus and complete your thesis or dissertation.

We encourage you to get involved in our campus community and take advantage of the many athletic, music, and theater events that are available every week.

Our office sponsors several events with graduate students in mind: the Student Creative and Research Endeavors Exhibition happens every Spring, as well as the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) graduate student competition in February. We also sponsor professional development for graduate students, including the Graduate Teaching Assistant workshop series led by Curriculum and Instructional Support.
