Biography

Before bringing his expertise to CMU, Kurt built a career as a producer and manager in television and independent video production. Kurt’s creative excellence has been recognized with a Gold Marcom Award for Branded Content, a Platinum Aurora ‘Best of Show,’ a Gold Aurora, a Videographer Award of Excellence, and seven (yes, seven!) Bronze Telly Awards.

Outside the university, Kurt is a dedicated practitioner of Praying Mantis Kung Fu and Wu Tai Chi. He applies the philosophy of these disciplines to his creative work and teaching, proving that compelling storytelling and education require both clinical precision and effortless flow.
