Biography
Dr. Yahia is a professor and a registered dietitian. She earned her Ph.D. in Nutrition at King's College, London, England. Her research training focused on lipid metabolism, nutrition and cardiovascular risk, and obesity at King's College London, Emory University, and Columbia University. She completed the "certificate of training in adult weight management" Level I & Level II provided by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Yahia's research focuses on obesity prevention, dietary management of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and eating disorders. She is currently working on understanding the determinants of weight loss practices among college students in relation to disordered eating behaviors. Her research aims to advance evidence-based practice on the role of nutrition in preventing obesity, prediabetes, and metabolic diseases among college students.
