Biography

Dr. Stacey R. Lim is a Professor of Audiology at Central Michigan University’s Audiology program. She received her undergraduate degree from The College of Wooster, her Doctor of Audiology degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium, and her Ph.D. from Kent State University. Dr. Lim’s teaching and research interests in cochlear implants and aural rehabilitation stem from her own personal experiences growing up with bilateral, profound, sensorineural hearing loss from birth.  She currently wears a cochlear implant and a hearing aid. Her current research focuses on auditory training for individuals who have cochlear implants, as well as accessibility for adults who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Dr. Lim is also a co-curator of (dis)ABLED BEAUTY: the evolution of beauty, disability and ability, which was a museum exhibition that featured creatively designed adaptive devices, assistive devices, and apparel for those with disabilities.
