Why This Program & What You'll Learn

Managers are decision-makers and problem-solvers. They face wave after wave of change—in the economy, in society, in technology—and adapt.

At CMU, you'll learn to see challenges on the horizon and meet them head-on. Coursework, internships and other hands-on opportunities will give the leadership skills you need to be effective on day one of your new career.

As a general management major, you'll take classes in several management disciplines. Statistics will help you analyze data. Human resources will give you the tools to hire and motivate the right team members. Purchasing management will equip you to negotiate with vendors. And coursework in diversity and cultural differences will give you a broader perspective on our global society.

A management minor is available for students pursuing any degree who would like to have a foundation for managing people and resources within an organization.
