Membership type
Student Memberships
As a CMU student, your access to the SAC is a benefit of your CMU tuition. Student Family memberships are available each semester (Fall, Spring and Summer).
Students enrolled in at least one credit and paying CMU tuition have access to the Student Activity Center for that semester (Fall, Spring & Summer).
If a student is on a tuition waiver through the university, they are able to purchase a $72 membership per semester (Fall, Spring & Summer) to gain access to the facility.
A student enrolled in at least one credit for Summer 1 and/or Summer 2 will have access to the SAC as a benefit of their tuition. If a student is on a tuition waiver and/or not enrolled in summer classes, they are able to purchase a $72 membership.

Tuition Benefit Plan - SAC Memberships
Effective February 8, 2023, CMU Faculty & Staff Family Memberships at the Student Activity Center may include a child/children utilizing the CMU Tuition Benefit Plan. Prior to this, students utilizing the Tuition Benefit Plan who were part of a SAC family membership were required to buy a separate individual membership to use the Student Activity Center.
This change only impacts students who are using the Tuition Benefit Plan to pay 100% of their tuition costs and who are part of a family membership to the SAC.
Students who use the Tuition Benefit Plan to pay 100% of their tuition costs but are NOT part of a family membership to the SAC are still required to pay the individual $72 SAC fee.
Students using the Tuition Benefit Plan to cover part of their tuition costs who are NOT part of a family membership AND who have paid for any tuition credit hours through another means of payment (such as cash, credit card, scholarships or grants) are NOT required to pay the $72 individual SAC fee
