Events List

For use in full-width or main content areas.

The CMU Event list widget allows you to display Events manually or by feeding them to the widget using categories.

Widget standards

A preset is needed for this widget.

Do:

  • Use only one Event List per page.
  • Only place this widget in the main content area.
  • Utilize the "View All Events" button to direct users to more content.
  • Select the highest possible category to filter your content.

Do NOT:

  • Leave "Auto-generated" as the selected option under Single List Items.
  • Allow a CMU Event widget on a published page to remain empty, displaying zero events.
  • Select more than 5 categories to filter your content.

 

 

Written instructions


1. Open the page you want to add the event list widget to and click on +Add Widget. Make sure you're clicking inside a container.

2. Click "Layout"

3. Select the "Section Preset."

4. Click the preset named "Featured Events."

5. A list of events will appear on your page. Select the widget to open the editing menu.

6. Click the editor pencil.

7. In the Heading field of the Content list widget, add the heading for your events list widget.

8. OPTIONAL: You can have a button at the top of the widget that links users to more events if you would like. Please be sure to fill in the CTA ADA title field as well.

9. Be sure to select your category (department, unit, etc.). Select no more than 5.

Tip: Tip! Select the least number of categories possible to attain your content needs. Using too many categories reduces the load speed of every page with a content list widget.

Please select fewer than 5 categories whenever you can.

10. For tags, select "Events".

11. For list settings, you can choose how many events you would like to populate.

12. There are a few options under "Sort items" which determine the order in which people profiles are displayed:

  • Last published
  • Last modified
  • By name (A-Z)
  • By name (Z-A)
  • As set manually
  • As set in Advanced mode

13. Click "Save".
