This page includes many resources to assist crime survivors in coping with the aftereffects of an event.
- Crime Victims Brochure- This contains all rights victims have when a crime occurs. Located inside are resources and information to assist in resuming normal life practices.
- R.I.S.E Advocacy- Provides intimate partner and sexual assault support services in Clare, Isabella, and Gratiot counties.
- Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates (SAPA)- Services offered through Central Michigan University during the academic year.
- Personal Protection Order (PPO)- A Circuit Court injunctive order that helps protect victims of family, dating violence, or stalking.
- Traffic crash and incident report requests- Purchase a copy of a traffic crash report and download it instantly.
- FTC ID Theft: Help report and recover from identity theft.
Crime victim rights
Victims who suffer direct or threatened physical, financial or emotional harm as a result of a felony or other crime, are entitled to the following information:
- Emergency and medical services are available: McLaren, 989-772-6700, 121 South Drive, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858 / CMU Health Services (Students), 989-774-6599, Foust Hall/CMU Counseling Center (students) 989-774-3381, Foust Hall.
- You may be eligible for crime victim's compensation benefits. To apply, fill out an application available from the Crime Victim's Services Commission at PO Box 30026, Lansing, MI 48909. Their telephone number is 517-373-7373.
- The prosecuting attorney's office has a victim/witness program.
- Notification of hearings upon request.
- If you would like to be notified of an arrest in your case or the release of the person arrested or both, you should call the Isabella County Sheriff's Department at 989-772-5911 and inform them, and/or go to www.vinelink.com
- If, within 6 months, you are not notified of an arrest in your case, you may call CMU Police Department at 989-774-3081 for the status of your case.
- Property taken as evidence shall be returned, except contraband, property for which ownership is in dispute, weapons and property the prosecutor deems necessary.
