Jamie (she, her, hers) joined CMU as a student athlete on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams in 2013 where she completed her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Administration degrees in 2017 and 2019 respectively. While completing her Master Degree, Jamie worked as a graduate student within the Office of Research Compliance and completed an internship with the Office of HIPAA Compliance. Since then, Jamie has worked in CMU’s Office of HIPAA Compliance and became the HIPAA Privacy Officer Fall of 2021. In this role, Jamie strives to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information, while simultaneously providing continuing education and guidance to the CMU workforce while ensuring compliance with the HIPAA Privacy and Security rules.
Parveeza Gala, Vice Chairperson

Parveeza currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Master of Science in Administration (MSA) department. In this role, she works with daily operations, manages the departmental budget, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance the program’s mission, enhance student success, and drive institutional growth.
Over her eight years at CMU, Gala has held various positions in the CEDL department, the Office of Diversity Education, Academic Advising, and the MSA department. She currently chairs the MSA Council and serves on the EHS Advisory Board, contributing to strategic decision-making and program development.
Before joining CMU, she was an adjunct instructor at Mid-Michigan Community College and an academic administrator at an international residential school. She is an active member of professional networks, including NASPA, ACPA, DA Global, FSCA, and the MI-ACE Women’s Network, where she contributes to national and regional conversations on leadership, institutional effectiveness, and educational innovation.
Parveeza’s expertise encompasses on-campus, online, post-traditional, international, and military student populations. She has a proven record of designing programs and services that create inclusive, supportive, and empowering learning environments. Her work includes leading cultural competency workshops, developing professional development programs, and spearheading strategic initiatives that strengthen academic quality, promote equity, and improve student experiences.
She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from CMU. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at CMU, with research focused on culturally relevant education and leadership practices.
Christine LaBelle

Christine LaBelle joined the CMU’s Academic Advising team in 2013. Started as a General Academic Advisor located in the Towers Success Center advising all the students living in the Towers Residential Halls. In 2019, she transitioned into college advising for the College of Education and Human Services focusing on teacher education. She enjoys working with our future educator students starting with new student orientation and helping them navigate their academic journey to graduation. She is actively involved in the New Student Orientation Committee and Policy and Procedure Committee for Academic Advising and Assistance. Also, she is one of the lead advisors partnering with the Office of Educator Preparation Programs and a member of the Secondary Education Committee. Christine has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from CMU majoring in Marketing and Management. Her two daughters are third generation CMU graduates and enjoy going to CMU football games. She is involved with the Mt. Pleasant community and Vice President of Engagement for the Mt. Pleasant Women’s City Club.
Shannon Vautrin

Shannon Vautrin brings over a decade of senior administrative experience at Central Michigan University, currently serving as Director of Administration and Governance and Special Assistant to the Dean inthe Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine. In this role, she supports complex college-wide operations, advances institutional priorities, and fosters a culture of trust, communication, and collaboration. Her work centers on building cross-functional relationships, aligning operations with strategic goals, and creating space for shared problem-solving. Shannon is particularly committed to inclusive dialogue and transparent decision-making and will bring those principles forward in her service on the P&A Council. As a Council member, Shannon is excited to contribute meaningfully, represent the perspectives of her P&A colleagues, and support a collaborative, engaged CMU community.
Alyse Munishamaiah

Alyse joined CMU's Innovation & Online division in 2022 as an Associate Director of Outreach, Business and Community Engagement. She is based in Lansing, Michigan, and primarily serves the Capitol Region, as well as the Saginaw/Bay Area. She is a proud CMU Alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her time at CMU, she was an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta and Rho Lambda. Alyse also has a Master of Social Work from Wayne State University and maintains a clinical social work license in the State of Michigan. She is currently a student in CMU's Doctor of Educational Leadership program.
Prior to working for CMU, Alyse did work supporting victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, medical social work, as well as workforce development specifically for individuals with disabilities. Her experience has helped her identify opportunities, build relationships, and fulfill her passion for breaking down barriers and helping others.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking and baking, volunteering, traveling, and spending time with her husband and dog, Pippa.
Melissa Blythe

Currently serving as the Director of Events and Conference Services, She holds an undergraduate degree from CMU and an MBA from NWMSU. Previous roles in higher education include Residence Hall Director, Student Conduct officer, Assistant Director of Student Life, faculty member in the College of Business Administration and RSO Advisor. Melissa higher education and the energy that the students bring to the work that we do every day.
Chantel Barger

As the Assistant Director of Student Personnel and Guest Services in the Division of University Engagement and Student Affairs, she has more than 11 years of experience in higher education, with the majority dedicated to University Recreation at Central Michigan University. Her experience includes student development, human resources, large-scale event planning, and admissions recruitment. She isdeeply committed to fostering supportive, inclusive, and empowering environments where both students and staff can thrive. As a proud first-generation international student from Toronto, Canada, CMU became more than just a place to study—it transformed the course of her life. Knowing firsthand how transformative CMU can be, she strives to be a voice for those who may feel unseen but deserve to be heard. Beyond her current role, she also serves as a Registered Student Organization (RSO) Advisor, sits on the CMU Police Oversight Committee, and is an active member of the League of Women Voters.

Jill became a part of Central Michigan University’s Innovation and Online team in September 2022, stepping into the role of Associate Director of Online Student Services. In this leadership role, she oversees a dedicated team focused on the recruitment, engagement, and retention of students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Services’ (CEHS) undergraduate and graduate online programs. Her commitment to student success and her deep understanding of CEHS programs guide her strategic approach to supporting online learners.
Jill's journey with CMU began in 2010, when she joined the university as an academic advisor for CEHS. Over the course of 12 years, she worked closely with undergraduate students, helping them navigate their academic paths and preparing them for careers in education and human services. Her extensive experience in advising, along with her deep knowledge of teacher education and student development, uniquely positions her to enhance the online student experience across CEHS programs.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Communications and a Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development, Jill earned her Educational Specialist (Ed. S.) degree from Central Michigan University in October 2023.
Outside her professional role, Jill enjoys a full and active life with her husband and their three children. Together, they spend their free time reading, camping, and exploring the natural beauty of Michigan's diverse landscapes.
Kristen Harrison

Kristen came to CMU in the spring of 2023. Prior to being at CMU, Kristen was a dance faculty member at Alma College for 13 years. While at Alma, Kristen was also the Performing Arts Recruitment Coordinator and the Coordinator for Campus Engagement and Events.
Kristen is currently pursuing her Masters in Higher Education Administration and Social Justice.
Hannah Martin

Hannah Martin joined CMU’s Alumni Relations team in 2024 and serves as Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement. Her duties include planning and executing alumni events on and off campus and cultivating and maintaining relationships with the regional alumni groups. Before her time at CMU, Hannah worked in retail management and most recently as the Communication and Events Coordinator with the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce, where she developed a deep passion for her community. A CMU Alumna herself, Hannah hopes to blend her commitment to community with her love for CMU. Receiving her undergrad in 2016, Hannah is currently enrolled in CMU’s MSA program with plans to graduate in May of 2026.
Around the Mt. Pleasant area, you can find Hannah as the Vice President of the Mt. Pleasant Jaycees, the Secretary of the Habitat for Humanity of Isabella County Board of Directors, and co-chair of the Mt. Pleasant Craft Beer Festival Committee.
