Commencement day instructions for graduates
Parking is available in lots 62E and 62W. Graduates must enter through the main atrium of the Events Center and report to Rose 143 at 9 am to line up for the processional. Please see the Events Center map and follow signs for College of Medicine graduate lineup. CMED staff will assist in lining you up in the correct order. You must stay in this order to ensure the correct name is announced and you receive the correct diploma.
Personal belongings should be left at home or with your guests. There will not be a secure area to store personal items during the ceremony.
During the ceremony, marshals will direct you when it is time for you to approach the stage. After your name is announced, face the audience and bend slightly at the knees while the hood is placed over your shoulders. Proceed across the stage to receive your diploma and have a photo taken with President Davies and Dr. Kikano. You will then exit the stage and return to your seat for the remainder of the ceremony.
Commencement day instructions for guests
Parking is available in lots 62E and 62W. Guests should enter the main atrium of the Events Center. Doors will open to McGuirk Arena at approximately 9 am. Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony.
For the safety of all attendees, bag checks will be conducted upon entry. Prohibited items include noisemaking devices (bells, horns, whistles, etc.), helium balloons, outside food and beverage, tobacco products and e-cigarettes, lighters, alcoholic beverages, pepper spray, illegal substances, and weapons.
Cap and gown
Graduates must pick up their cap and gown prior to commencement. Dates, times, and locations for pick-up are listed below. Graduates must return their regalia to Rose 143 following the ceremony.

ADA accommodations
Guests who require ADA seating should arrive at least one hour prior to the ceremony. Ushers will assist in showing the party to ADA seating.
Photography
Professional photographers will take pictures of all graduates. A proof will be emailed to the address on record with the university. Purchase information will be included with the proof.
Flowers
Commencement Flowers will be onsite for guests who are interested in purchasing flowers for their graduates. For a safe, contact-free purchase, guests are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the online pre-order option. To retrieve your order, guests should stop by the Commencement Flowers booth located at the Events Center.
