Cari Cucksey '01

Cari grew up around antiques. 

Mother was a teacher; both sets of grandparents were “pickers”.  They all taught her about antiques. 

Before Cari attended CMU, she was a fitness fanatic, and she operated a personal training business.  She provided in-home sessions and traveled throughout southeast Michigan doing so. 

After CMU, she began selling items on eBay which led her to establish her estate services business.  This in turn led to the show “Cash & Cari”. Apparently, the HGTV executives were looking for a female to host a show similar to “American Pickers.”  Other opportunities have also presented themselves, such as working with Oprah Winfrey to facilitate a 100-family garage sale as well as a repurposing-related book that to be released in September 2013. 

There is a RePurpose App that you can download that will assist people shopping and valuing items when they are out, providing GPS directions to local RePurpose events and estate sales and about and provide access to WorthPoint, the largest resource for researching and valuing art, antiques and collectibles.
