Cheryl Danner, MA, LLP
As a counselor and consultant at Central Michigan University, I will support students on the spectrum in navigating the challenges often encountered during this exciting and stressful time. College can be hard for all students. I hope to provide support and guidance while you find your way at CMU. I look forward to watching you graduate!
My 25 years as a school psychologist prepared me for this role and I am excited to bring my experience and education to CMU. As a school psychologist I provided autism assessments, developed supportive educational plans, and provided counseling and coaching to students to help in the academic setting and in life. Additionally, as a parent of an autistic son and a two-time college graduate, I have first hand knowledge of the challenges at the college level. Experiences often include difficulties navigating campus and finding support and friendships. I am passionate about helping autistic students make the most of their educational experience and want to see students thrive at CMU! I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from St. Mary's University.
