Start Smart: Your Semester Kickoff Guide
This page is designed to help you understand what to expect as you prepare for the upcoming semester! We are here to walk you through key information about financial aid, billing, and the disbursement process so you can stay on track and avoid surprises. Here is to a great start!
Monitor financial aid portal
- Log into your financial aid portal to take these next steps:
- Review offered aid
- Track required documents needed for aid disbursement
- Review communications
- Take action on your offered Federal Loans: this is where you will go to accept, reduce, or decline your federal loans for the academic year
Pre-billing estimate
- Review your Pre-Billing estimate: utilize this helpful tool to prepare for the upcoming billing cycle. You can see your estimated charges minus pending financial aid to plan for the future.
Billing charges
- Charges for the upcoming term will begin to be placed onto the student account just over a month before the billing due date. This will include the following:
- Tuition, fees, housing, meal plan, and book charges
Financial aid disbursement
- Financial aid cannot begin the disbursement process until 10 days prior to your first course start date.
- If you are enrolled in a summer or spring course, this process cannot begin until Satisfactory Academic Progress is run on the previous term. Please note that this can cause financial aid disbursement delays for the fall or summer semesters and may not be applied to accounts exactly 10 days prior to courses start date.
- Disbursements run every Friday.
