Cerney, Carson

FIXED-TERM FACULTY

Biography

As both an actor and an educator I base my work around the concepts of truth & specificity, taking risks, working moment-to-moment, and perhaps most importantly, remaining curious and open to other perspectives and philosophies. Originally from Oklahoma City, OK., I have worked as a professional stage & film actor in Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, California & Michigan. Favorite recent credits include The Pillowman (Michal), Shakespeare in Love (Will), The 39 Steps (Clown #1) & Failure: A Love Story (Mortimer Mortimer). Before joining CMU, I was the Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting, Voice & Movement at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where I taught multiple performance classes in the BFA Acting & Musical Theater programs.
