Biography

Gabriella is the Special Collections Cataloging Librarian at Clarke Historical Library. She earned a BA in European History from the University of Turin (Italy) and at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), earned a MS in Library and Information Sciences, Certificate in Special Collections Librarianship, as well as a MA in Italian studies with a concentration on Medieval Studies. She is now working toward a PhD in Italian Studies, focusing on women’s publishing in late 17th century Italy. 

 Since 2015, she worked for the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at UIUC, specializing in rare book and manuscript cataloging, while developing her paleographical and linguistic skills. In addition, since 2018, she taught Italian language courses for the French and Italian Department.

 Her research interests include the history of information and information transmission, subject headings and description bias, emblematica, manuscripts and paleography, and history of the book.
