Why This Program & What You'll Learn
A strong knowledge of modern history can enrich your credentials in any other field — from political science to earth sciences and geography. A graduate certificate from CMU gives you a strong grasp of the complexities of society and how they play into the world at large.

The program offers a great deal of flexibility. You’ll choose two courses in modern American or European history, then earn the rest of your credits through any of the department’s modern history courses.
