Community Service

Join our community of doers who give more than 100,000 hours of volunteer service each year to better communities near and far.

Find a greater sense of purpose

Each year, thousands of students start at the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center to join efforts ranging from helping the elderly to aiding in hurricane relief. Our community of doers gives thousands of hours of volunteer service each year to the surrounding areas, the state and the nation.

  • Alternative Breaks are a great way to help communities in need during holiday breaks, summer vacation or between semesters.
  • The CMU Student Food Pantry provides students experiencing food insecurity support when they need a little extra help.
  • The Financial Wellness Collaborative helps students with budgets, understanding credit usage and financial planning for a brighter future.

Other opportunities include America Counts and Reads, Habitat for Humanity, and Public Service Residential Community. Search our online database and mark Issue Day, Valentines for Veterans, and Be My Neighbor Day on your calendar.
