Widget standards
This widget does not need a layout, but it should be used in a section.
Do:
- Use for events or deadlines with a specific end date and time.
- Collaborator is responsible for removing the widget after the countdown expires.
- Keep messaging short, clear and actionable. Max character limit of 50.
- The preferred length for the event title or heading is 20 characters or fewer.
Do NOT:
- Use for ongoing content.
- Use if no action or event is tied to the countdown.
- Use as a decorative or filler element.
Written instructions
1. Navigate to the page you would like to add the countdown widget to, and then click "add widget".
2. Under "Cards and callouts" select "Countdown".
3. Click on the countdown widget, and then the pencil icon to edit.
4. Add in the heading of the event or deadline.
Tip! Keep messaging of the heading short, clear and actionable. Max character limit of 50. The preferred length for the event title or heading is 20 characters or fewer.
5. Next, add in the date and time you would like to count down to, and be sure to enter it as follows (for example): 9/23/2025, 1:00:00 PM.
6. Click "Save".
