Honors Program Scholarships

The following are additional scholarships available only to Honors Program students. Some of these scholarships are open to all Honors students, while others are designated for specific groups, such as Track II Honors students or regular Honors admits. Be sure to read the eligibility criteria carefully and apply for any or all scholarship(s) for which you qualify! You apply for these scholarships through the Scholarship Universe Portal, which is now open for application submissions. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is December 21, 2026. Awardees will have their scholarship funds dispersed in fall 2027 and spring 2028. Students are also encouraged to consult their academic departments and colleges for additional scholarship opportunities. 

David Gill Memorial Scholarship

• Award up to $1,000 
• Must be a Track II Honors Student in good standing 
  
• 3.5 GPA or higher 
  
• Must be enrolled at CMU for the following Fall semester 
  
• Recipients must earn at least 24 new credit hours within fall and spring semester sequence of a given year and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 
  

Ruth Heyman Honors Scholarship

Established in 2007 by the Ruth Heyman Foundation

• Award $2,500 
• Must be a Track II Honors student demonstrating financial need through the FASFA
• Student has not been awarded a Centralis scholarship
• ACT score of 25
• 3.5 GPA or higher
• Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher
• Recipients must live on campus their second year
  

Lighthouse Scholarship

Established in 2022 by Robert and Shayne Wuerfel

• Award $1,500
• Must be a Centralis Gold recipient demonstrating financial need through the FASFA
• Must be an Honors student in good standing 
• Recipients must earn at least 24 new credit hours within fall and spring semester sequence of a given year and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25
  

Centralis Alumni Scholarship

Established in 2014 by Centralis Alumni, Faculty and Friends

• Award $1,250
• Must be an Honors student in good standing (Track I and Track II students are eligible)
• 3.25 GPA or higher
  
• Completion of 56 credit hours by the end of Spring semester of application
  

Honors Alumni Endowed Award Scholarship

Established in 2005 by Honors Alumni

• Award $250 - $1,000
• Must be an Honors student in good standing (Track I or Track II)
• 3.25 GPA or higher
• Completion of 56 credit hours by the end of Spring semester of application
• Must be enrolled at CMU for the following Fall semester
• Recipients must earn at least 24 new credit hours within fall and spring semester sequence of a given year and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25
• Applicants need to submit an essay describing the role that the Honors Program has played in the applicant's success
