Compensation Information for New Faculty

Faculty are paid on a semi-monthly basis with pay dates on the fifteenth and the last day of the month (or the last workday preceding the pay date if it falls on a weekend or CMU holiday). Pay statements can be viewed online via CentralLink. It is not possible to be paid in advance.

CMU requires all employees to use direct deposit or the CMU pay card for compensation and reimbursement.  CMU will not process any check payments.  

Have your paycheck sent directly to the checking or savings accounts of your choice at any financial institution in the United States. It is the safest, most confidential way to have electronic access to your pay. You are able to send your money to more than one financial institution and/or account at the same institution. Once you have obtained your Global I.D. and password, go to the CentralLink, click on My Account, and search for "Direct Deposit" to sign up. Direct deposit is highly recommended.

This is a stored-value debit card that is accepted at millions of locations nationwide that accept MasterCard® debit cards. It can be used to withdraw cash, pay bills, and shop. Once you have obtained your Global I.D. and password, contact Payroll to sign up.
