Capital Plan
The Capital Plan is CMU’s long-range roadmap for investing in the university’s buildings, infrastructure, and campus environment. Derived from the 2021 Campus Master Plan, the Capital Plan helps prioritize major projects that support academic excellence, student success, operational efficiency, deferred maintenance reduction, and the long-term stewardship of university assets.
The plan organizes future investments into key focus areas including Academics, Student Affairs, Athletics, Administration, and Infrastructure and Deferred Maintenance. Projects are evaluated and prioritized based on institutional needs, facility conditions, strategic objectives, available funding sources, and their overall impact on the university community.
As a living planning document, the Capital Plan is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect evolving campus priorities, emerging opportunities, and available resources. It servers as a guide for transforming the university’s strategic vision into tangible improvements that enhance the campus experience and support CMU’s mission for years to come.
