Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program

The Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program (MINGSTAP) will pay up to $14,400.00 per year for undergraduate students and $6,000.00 per year for graduate students.

It is a requirement to use MINGSTAP that the student must also be using Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA).

A new change in rules of Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) and GI Bill® allows for students to use FTA and Chapter 1606 (Montgomery GI Bill® - Selected Reserve) at the same time. Since it is required that you are using FTA with MINGSTAP, that means that you can use all 3 benefits at the same time.

To get started with MINGSTAP, contact Heather Ries (ries1h@cmich.edu, 989-774-3264) before you apply.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
