Biography
Amelia Kasper is a Lecturer at Central Michigan University. She is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her BSW from Spring Arbor University and her MSW from Michigan State University.
Amelia’s early practice primarily focused on serving individuals with severe mental illness and intellectual disabilities through the Community Mental Health system. It was through providing case management, home-based therapy, and individual therapy services that she developed a deep sense of advocacy for individuals and community systems.
Currently, Amelia works in public health to help increase access to care for individuals in her community. She provides clinical supervision to community health workers and regional supervision to other health departments across Northern Michigan, working to reduce barriers to care by aligning systems with health-equity approaches.
