Biography
Dr. Christine Witt holds the position of Associate Professor of Business Information Systems at Central Michigan University. Her research focuses on digital transformation, enterprise systems, technology adoption, social media behavior, and the societal impacts of mandated information systems. Dr. Witt’s scholarship explores themes including digital exclusion, blended and online learning, enterprise systems, and the ethical and behavioral dimensions of social media use.
Dr. Witt has contributed to the academic community through peer-reviewed journal publications and conference proceedings appearing in outlets such as the Journal of Brand Strategy, The Journal of Social Media in Society, International Journal of Management Education, Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, and the Proceedings of the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS). Her recent research examines infrastructural fragility and frontline intermediaries in India’s Public Distribution System, faculty confidence in online teaching, and the role of emotional intelligence and social motivations in inappropriate social media posting.
Actively engaged in the information systems research community, Dr. Witt participates in leading international conferences including the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, and SAP-related industry events through the Association of SAP User Groups. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and as a reviewer for the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences proceedings.
In addition to her research contributions, Dr. Witt is actively involved in curriculum innovation and experiential learning initiatives in enterprise systems and systems analysis and design. She has led the development of ERPsim competitions, SAP curriculum initiatives, and industry-engaged learning experiences that connect students with real-world enterprise technology applications
Dr. Witt's dedication to her students extends beyond the classroom. She has mentored teams in ERPsim competitions, guiding CMU student teams to national and global recognition, including two second-place finishes in the worldwide ERPsim Sustainability Challenge. Additionally, she has organized and led CMU’s ERPsim Competition.
