Biography

McGuire brings more than 40 years of experience in real estate investment and development and more than 25 years of experience in construction. He has taught finance, real estate and marketing courses at Central Michigan University for 16 years.

His current professional roles include:

• Managing Member, McGuire Family Investments LLC
• President and Broker, MiCRE, Inc.
• President, DRF Inc., doing business as:
  • Brownfield Development Corp.
  • Progress Management Co.
  • Fitzgerald Construction Management Co.
  • Magoo’s Warehouse Inc.

McGuire’s professional experience includes:

• 15 years conducting HUD housing inspections
• 15 years administering an affordable housing program for MSHDA, assisting approximately 1,500 families with an annual budget of approximately $8 million
• Managing disaster response and reconstruction projects for PNC Bank, Frankenmuth Insurance and Pioneer Mutual
• Constructing commercial, multifamily and residential projects
• Conducting the first 1031 exchange in Isabella County
• Conducting the first brownfield redevelopment project in Isabella County
• Successfully writing grants to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis

His community involvement includes:

• Habitat for Humanity Michigan Volunteer of the Year, 2005, after managing construction of six houses in 26 months
• Former member, City of Mt. Pleasant Planning Commission
• Elected and re-elected member, Mt. Pleasant City Commission
• Current member, City of Mt. Pleasant Zoning Board of Appeals
