Ganvir, Nikhil
Biography
Hello!
I am a Lecturer-I at Central Michigan University, Economics Department. Before joining CMU, I worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics and Management at Albion College. I completed my Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico Department of Economics. I am an applied microeconomist with a research interest in Development and Public Economics. My current research explores the effects of caste-based residential segregation of marginalized communities on children's education outcomes in rural India. I am also interested in looking at the impact of the social positioning of women on their well-being. After receiving a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from India in 2011, I worked as a Quality Control In-charge at Confidence Petroleum India Limited (CPIL) from 2011 to 2015. In 2018, I received an M.Sc. in Economics with a concentration in Financial Econometrics from Texas A&M University. In 2019, I received an M.A. in Economics from UNM.
