Biography
Santiago Aguirre is an Assistant Professor in the Business Information Systems Department at Central Michigan University, where he teaches topics related to applied business analytics, ERP systems (SAP), Business Process Management (BPM), and emerging technologies such as process mining and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), preparing students to analyze, design, and optimize business processes in data-driven organizations.
He is an active faculty member of the SAP University Alliance, integrating SAP tools and simulations into his courses. His research work has been published in leading journals, including IEEE Access, Journal of Cleaner Production, and International Journal of Business Process Integration and Management, and he has authored more than 14 peer-reviewed journal articles, 15 conference papers, and one book. He is the recipient of the UiPath Visionary Educator Award in both 2022 and 2025, recognizing his contributions to advancing automation education.
