Biography
Dr. Tyler Mazone is a Deaf and neurodivergent (bass) clarinetist and composer based in Michigan, where he graduated with his Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University. Dr. Mazone advocates for accessibility by researching various music pedagogy topics and composing works tailored for collaborators, from whom he receives valuable feedback.
Especially prevalent is his work advocating for Disabled musicians and breaking down barriers in music education and the community. He enjoys being a part of new clarinet consortia, especially for alto/bass/contrabass clarinets. You'll find Dr. Mazone's music self-published and with publishers such as Randall Standridge Music, Neil A. Kjos Music Company, TUX People's Music, and clarinet distributor CAMCo.
Outside of music, Dr. Mazone can be found hiking outdoors, reading, and playing video games!
