Yates, Liann
Biography
Liann Yates is a Senior Lecturer and teaches a wide array of classes including; Energy and the Environment, Introduction to Sustainability, Oceanography, United States and Canada, and Physical Geography. Born and raised in Newfoundland, she has lived in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Ottawa and has traveled the seven seas.
Her multidisciplinary education has led to a diversity of work experiences including environmental consulting in Michigan, nonprofit mapping in Borneo, and designing sediment quality guidelines with Environment Canada.
She encourages students to take advantage of travel abroad opportunities, and recently had a student work in Indonesia. Her love of teaching is evidenced by the relationships she creates in the classroom
