Dr. Zheng's research interests include diagnostic audiology, amplification, cochlear implant, and aural rehabilitation. Dr. Zheng has mentored different areas of student doctoral research projects, including early identification of noise induced hearing loss; effect of age and hearing loss on speech perception in typical listening environments with noise and reverberation; how hearing aids and cochlear implants help listeners improve hearing in noise and reverberation; compared to the traditional ear impression, what will Otoscan bring to audiology; professional-fit vs. self-fit for the OTC hearing aid; tinnitus therapy; venting effect on hearing aid fitting outcomes; and sound localization.
