Biography
Lawrence Fulton, Ph.D., is a Professor of Practice in Applied Analytics whose work spans machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, optimization, simulation, and interpretable computational methods. He retired as a tenured full professor from Texas State University and previously served as a U.S. Army Medical Department Colonel, aeromedical evacuation pilot and air ambulance commander, and the Army Surgeon General Consultant in Operations Research. He has participated in more than $6.6 million in funded external grants and contracts and has consulted for organizations including Boeing, Sikorsky, the U.S. Department of Defense, and FootJoy. He has received multiple awards for teaching and research and has published extensively across statistics, data science, healthcare, and applied mathematics. His recent research includes quantum machine learning, including Classical SU(2) Models Match or Exceed Shallow Variational Quantum Circuits on Classical Vision Benchmarks, accepted in Quantum Machine Intelligence.
