You'll be ready to educate students in the 21st century, through a program that:
- Provides the content knowledge in life, physical, and earth and space sciences necessary to become effective K-12 science teachers.
- Provides training and practice in designing and implementing effective, engaging, and inquiry-based science lessons.
- Prepare student to provide a safe laboratory environment in the classroom, including care and use of animals and plants and appropriate use and storage of chemicals.
- The Office of Educator Preparation Programs (OEPP) supports teacher candidates throughout their time at CMU.
Completion of the Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a major in integrated science will qualify you for recommendation to the Michigan State Board of Education for a Secondary Standard Certificate. Certification in integrated science qualifies you to teach any science course in grades 6-12.
