Official Transcript Requests
Central Michigan University has partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to provide online ordering for your CMU transcripts. This partnership allows you to order your transcripts 24 hours a day, seven days a week and track your order via text message or email. Transcripts ordered through the NSC are typically sent to a recipient within one hour, though it could take up to 2-3 business days to mail a transcript for a record that requires manual processing (a student that attended CMU BEFORE the year 2000). The NSC is the only method through which students can request CMU transcripts.
Students that have previously attended or graduated from Central Michigan University and are reapplying to CMU do not need to submit CMU transcripts.
All transcript ordering will take place through the NSC’s website. Electronic transcripts sent directly from the NSC to another educational institution, employer, etc. will be considered official. In order to request an unofficial transcript, one simply needs to enter their own email in the recipient section and a transcript will be sent directly to you that can be used for unofficial purposes.
Electronic transcripts are the preferred method of transcript transmission between institutions. Students will find that the process is much more efficient and effective than ordering traditional paper-based transcripts.
an order, students will want to have the following information accessible:
- A valid major credit card
- A personal email address
- An email address to which a CMU transcript is to be sent
Note: If using a social security number to order your transcripts, you may get a message that your school was unable to find your record. Please click "No" next to, Do you want to edit the personal information you entered above. This will allow you to proceed with your order.
